Roz and Stan's big trip for 2015
Thu 2 Jul 2015
Browning to West Glacier

Today:114km Total:2535km
An easyish (if long) day - a bit of up to begin with and then mostly downhill. Lots of small towns to grab a drink and/or a meal.

Oops! We stopped to ask about this plane. Apparently it crashed last week (some injuries but no fatalities) and these workers had just got it moved off the mountain-side (with a helicopter) and were now loading it onto a truck ("for the insurance company").

So anyway, the workers were probably sick of having to explain what happened as we were not the only ones to ask. A few minutes later, another Australian couple in a campervan stopped and asked the same questions. The workers said that they were the second Australian tourists in 5 minutes to stop and there were some crazy Australian cyclists just ahead.
The other couple were curious so when they passed us they pulled over for a chat. Now Australia is a big country (23 million people, same geograhic size as USA etc) but it turns out that this couple lives down the road from us in Seaforth. After explaining where they lived, Stan said 'Oh yeah, I know that house. You have 2 dachshunds, right?' Yes, it's a very small world!

We had lunch at a lovely old railway hotel (lots of train memorabilia) which had this great sign.
