Lantau Stages 7 and 8: Shek Pik Reservoir to Tai O

It is not possible to leave the trail between section 7 and section 8 so they must be done together.  I would also recommend adding the 30 minute detour to see the historic Fan Lau fort and Tin Hau temple. With a rest on the beach and a look round the fort, it makes for around a 5 hour walk, which is long but flat with no more than a few inclines.

Start: I recommend you walk this backwards ending in Tai O where you can have a meal and take photos of the houses on stilts.  Take ferry to Mui Wo (or MTR to Tung Chung) and then bus to Tai O.  Get off the bus just after Shek Pik Reservoir (on your right).

End: From Tai O you can catch a bus to Mui Wo ferry or Tung Chung MTR

Difficulty: Easy (long but flat)
